Channa Kitchen

Trinidad in your neighborhood

Channa Kitchen is a new Trinidadian dining sensation located in the heart of South Minneapolis.  We can't wait to tantalize your taste buds with authentic herbs, spices, and flavors from the West Indies! Our dishes are artfully crafted and made from scratch using only natural and fresh ingredients. Whether you are enjoying mouth-watering curry chicken, savory stew fish, or a doubles, we put our heart in every dish!

Because we prize freshness, all of our dishes are made-to-order (meaning that we prepare food specifically when an order is received). To ensure that we can serve you, we encourage that you order within the scheduling window available  as we sell out FAST!

Find us at our shared kitchen in Uptown for pickup, or at pop-ups, farmers markets, catered events, fairs, and other fun gatherings!

Bringing Trinidad to Your Table!

While our restaurant is pick-up only, you can also find us at pop ups, farmer's markets, local fairs, and catering events. We're excited to bring our sensational Trinidadian cuisine to your table.

It feels pretty impossible to run a business right now. Our collective nervous system is wrecked and our sense of safety is shattered. Going to work means leaving the house and acting like everything is normal - when it’s NOT. But yet, our bodies need to eat. So with that said, order from Channa Kitchen so we can sustain this small immigrant-owned business and let me know if you’d like for me to scream in the car with you *before* or *after* you pick up your order in the ‘special instructions’ box.

📝 @discardedpostitpoetryWe are a small, immigrant-owned business. Our food carries our history, our hustle, and our heart. When you support a small immigrant-owned business, you’re supporting resilience, culture, and generations of hard work. Following a powerful act of resistance on Friday, support Channa Kitchen on Saturday. Your business helps keep our doors open and our traditions alive. We’re so grateful. See you on Saturday!Who can resist the fluffy goodness of our Pholourie? 😋 These savory fritters served with mango chutney have won the hearts of foodies at Channa Kitchen! 🥳 Bursting with flavors from split peas, herbs, and spices, every bite is a delightful experience. Channa Kitchen supports the ICE OUT strike in three ways:

1) Make a public statement demanding ICE leave MN - ☑️
2) Become a 4th amendment business - ☑️
3) Close our business on January 23rd - ☑️It doesn’t feel good to post about food right now. Minneapolis feels like a hunting ground. Hypervigilance and lingering fear have become part of our daily routine. But although the future is uncertain, ONE THING IS CERTAIN — the way that our community has banded together to support one another is absolutely beautiful. ❤️

Whether it’s folks organizing watches to help each other feel safer, parents walking their kids to school together, people bringing warm meals and supplies, or simply reaching out to say “we’re here for you” — this solidarity is what makes our community beautiful. ❤️

I know I said it doesn’t feel good to post about food, but scratch that. If you’re a patroller in the area this weekend, Channa Kitchen would like to give you a little yummy gift of appreciation for stepping up and showing out. Message us to coordinate pickup. ❤️Wow! Our Curry Chicken is making waves at Channa Kitchen. We're thrilled to share that it has received yet another glowing review! 🌟🍗 Your love for our food is what keeps us going. Stay tuned for more mouthwatering dishes from our kitchen. #ChannaKitchen #CurryChickenMagic

 Here's what it said:

"This curry chicken is SO GOOD. So much flavor, the chicken is very tender. One of my new favorites!"To our neighbors in Minneapolis, we see you.

These past few days have been heavy and it’s clear - community matters more than ever.

Food has always been our way of showing up. In a spirit of love, support, and solidarity with our Minneapolis community, Channa Kitchen is offering a 15% discount to all of our beloved customers. We hope this brings a little comfort during this hard time.

If you live within 2 miles of our kitchen and are concerned about leaving home to pick up your order, we will be happy to deliver for free.

A promo code will be sent out via email tomorrow at noon. Not on our email list?Hop over to www.channakitchen.com and sign up.Today, along with the rest of Minneapolis, our hearts are heavy. 💔

We are standing with our immigrant neighbors in Minneapolis and everywhere who are living with fear and grief after the killing of Renee Good today. Violence has no place in our communities, and no one should be afraid to live, work, or raise a family because of their immigration status.

Our restaurant was built by immigrants, for immigrants, and alongside immigrants. We believe in dignity, humanity, and safety for all people—no exceptions.

To our immigrant community: you are seen, you are valued, and you are not alone. We stand with you today and always. To everyone with their boots literally on the ground protecting immigrants and EACH OTHER, thank you.

#RIPRENEEGOODChanna Kitchen was honored to be part of yesterday’s swearing-in ceremony and to celebrate our local leadership. Wishing success (or continued success) as you serve our community. Proud to support moments that bring our city together. 🤝

A special thanks to @kedarforparks for the invitation. Your advocacy and fight for environmental and food justice, a now as Park Board commissioner will change the literal landscape of Minneapolis. Congrats!

In celebration of your commitment to serve our community, please enjoy a complimentary meal on us. This is our way of saying thank you for stepping into leadership and service. We’d be honored to welcome you and share a meal made with care, culture, and community in mind:
